Association to hold Lunar New Year dinner

KUCHING: A Lunar New Year dinner for an estimated 1,000 members of Kuching Division Community Association will be held at Thian Court, Crown Square here on Feb 28.

The association’s president PenghuluTanHengKeeannounced this during a press conference at a restaurant here yesterday.

According to him, this 13th festive gathering which is held to foster closer ties and promote unity among members will also see the installation ceremony of the association’s new committee.

He said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has been invited to be the guest-ofhonour at the dinner with Local Government and Housing Minister and Sarawak United People’s Party ( SUPP) president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian as special guest.

Prominent local businessman Tan Guek Kee is the patron of the dinner.

Tan said that entertainment programmes and lucky draw will enliven the festive dinner..
