Limkok­wing Foun­da­tion of­fers 300 schol­ar­ships

SEPANG: Limkok­wing Uni­ver­sity through Limkok­wing Foun­da­tion is of­fer­ing 300 schol­ar­ships to stu­dents pur­su­ing Diploma or De­gree pro­grammes in the uni­ver­sity.

Ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease by the uni­ver­sity, the foun­da­tion was es­tab­lished in 1998 by the uni­ver­sity’s pres­i­dent Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing. It has since be­come an in­ter­na­tional phil­an­thropic or­gan­i­sa­tion that em­pow­ers gen­er­a­tions of the fu­ture through ed­u­ca­tion across three con­ti­nents.

“Ev­ery year, full and par­tial schol­ar­ships are given to as­pir­ing young tal­ents to har­ness their cre­ativ­ity. The foun­da­tion through its schol­ar­ship and fi­nan­cial aid pro­gramme is com­mit­ted to pro­vide de­serv­ing but im­pov­er­ished stu­dents all over the world ter­tiary ed­u­ca­tion at Limkok­wing cam­puses world­wide,” added the press re­lease.

In 2003, the Min­is­ter of Ed­u­ca­tion, Malaysia, gave recog­ni­tion to the foun­da­tion for the most num­ber of schol­ar­ships given.

The foun­da­tion’s fun­da­men­tal dif­fer­ence lies in giv­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties to school leavers not only for aca­demic achieve­ments but also those tal­ented in sports, art and de­sign,writ­ing and other cre­ative pur­suits as well as the phys­i­cally chal­lenged.

Many re­cip­i­ents of Limkok­wing schol­ar­ships and fi­nan­cial aid have grad­u­ated and con­tinue to make their mark in the world.
