Sharp unveils new AQUOS 8K TV range for Malaysian market

-

SHAH ALAM: Sharp Electronics ( Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has unveiled its AX1 Series of AQUOS 8K television line-up, with Real 8K Resolution panel (7,680 x 4,320).

According to Sharp Electronics Malaysia managing director Robert Wu, this model has the highest resolution available in the whole television category, and is the first 8K television commercially available in the Asean market.

Adding on, he said it is always Sharp’s ambition to establish itself as the world’s most valuable brand through innovation and technology – the cornerstones of its product and business planning.

Sharp started its 8K development in 2009 and since then, it has been waiting for the day to bring the 8K television to Malaysian consumers.

“So today, I’m proud to announce that the ‘World of AQUOS 8K’ is finally here, with the arrival of our 8K line-up in Malaysia, and the first in Asean.

The high- quality Real 8Kresolution panel has 33 million pixels – 16 times more than that of full HD ( high- definition), and four times more than the 4K Ultra HD.

“The display reproduces images at a higher resolution than the human eye can capture, allowing you to zoom into details within an image to an extent not previously possible.

“All the AX1 series use Sharp’s proprietary UV2A panel made in Japan, while the 80-inch model has IGZO panel for that ‘ rising sense of resolution’,” he spoke during the launch recently.

The Sharp AQUOS 8K is also powered by Android television, operating with the latest Android television Version 8.0.

Its Eilex PrismTM feature delivers clear and powerful sound, as well as increases the ‘sweet spot’ range together with the uniquely- shaped speakers and double subwoofers — further enhancing the viewing experience.

For the Malaysian market, the AQUOS 8K is currently available at suggested retail price of RM73,999 for the 80-inch model, RM36,999 (70-inch) and RM25,999 (60-inch).
