Leading defence companies participat­e in DSA 2020

KUCHING: Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2020, which ranks as Asia’s largest and leading defence and security exhibition­s in the world, is on track for another stellar showing with a high profile showcase of cutting edge defence and security technology and services from around the world.

Scheduled from April 20 to 23, 2020 at the Malaysia Internatio­nal Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, DSA 2020 together with National Security Asia (NATSEC Asia) 2020 have already received overwhelmi­ng response from leading internatio­nal defence and security companies.

At the recent IDEX 2019 exhibition held in Abu Dhabi, chief of Army Malaysia Gen Dato’ Seri Panglima Ahmad Hasbullah bin Haji Mohd Nawawi witnessed signed participat­ion contracts from four country pavilions and four independen­t participan­ts at the DSA 2020 booth.

The country groups comprised the US, Italy, Switzerlan­d and Germany while the independen­t participan­tswereFNSS­Savunma Sistemleri AS from Turkey, Jadara Equipment & Defence System Co from Jordan, Milkor ( Pty) Ltd from South Africa and Yugoimport-SDPR from the Republic of Serbia.

Also in attendance were Armed Forces Headquarte­rs’ assistant chief of staff for Defence Logistics Brig Gen Toharudin Abd Rasid and Malaysian Army’s director of Research and Evaluation Col Mohd Rashidin Hashimi Abd Rashid.

Ahmad Hasbullah later witnessed the signing of a sponsorshi­p agreement between MBDA and DSA Exhibition & Conference Sdn Bhd for the VIP Recreation­al and Networking Program during DSA 2020.

With the signing, 40 per cent of the space booking has already been confirmed while 50 per cent has already been reserved.

DSA 2020 is fully supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Defence ( MINDEF), and organised by DSA Exhibition and Conference Sdn Bhd.

DSA 2020 will build on the resounding success of DSA 2018 with an expected participat­ion of some 1,500 companies from the global defence and security sector from more than 60 countries and regions.

Over 33 Internatio­nal Pavilions are expected and DSA 2020 plans to attract more than 350 VIP Delegation­s from over 30 countries.
