SMK Tatau, Sebauh top Bintulu Schools Track and Field Meet

B I N T U LU : S M K T a t au contingent emerged the overall champion for the secondary school category in the 17th Bintulu Division Inter- School Athletics Championsh­ip which ended at Bintulu Mini Stadium on Saturday.

Their athletes amassed 442.75 points to beat SMK Bakun (413.75 points) and SMK Bintulu ( 375.25) into second and third place.

A total of 1,289 athletes from 12 secondary schools took part including from SMK Bandar, SMK Belaga, SMK Kidurong, SMK Sebauh, SMK Baru, SMK Asyakirin, SMK Kemena, Kolej Vokasional Bintulu and SM Kai Dee.

The primary school category was competed based on zones. The champion was Sebauh followed by Kidurong and Kemena. The other two zones were Belaga and Tatau.

The Best Boy Athletes was Rozales Sigau Ladai of SMK Bandar and Nelson Ngalambai Putit of Sebauh Zone.

Jessyca Sayu Sawing of SMK Bandar while Kidurong’s Abby Nur Asdiany Abdullah ( Under- 10) and Sebauh’s Abiegail Sonia ( Under- 11) were the Best Girl Athletes.

PPD Belaga and schools in Belaga district participat­ed for the first time.

Prizes were given away special officer to Bintulu MP Ng Kheng Hong and Bintulu Education officer Fred Entau.

Also present during the closing ceremony were PPD of ficers Tero Bayel ( Sebauh), Jalong Wan ( Belaga) and Samri Suhaili ( Tatau).
