-

SERIAN: A group of seven former Form 5 students of Serian Secondary School is organising a reunion gathering, set to take place at Dewan Santapan here on July 20.

This was confirmed by the organising chairman Kerine Gadep duringameetingwiththecommittee members here recently.

In his remarks, he invited all members of the school’s ‘ Class of 1976’ to the inaugural reunion dinner.

“It has been 42 years since we left school, in December 1976, and it’s high time that we get together, rejuvenate and sustain our good friendship sown four decades ago.

“It’s never easy to gather former schoolmates for a get-together, as everyone is committed to their own lives and careers, besides being scattered all over the state; some are residing in Peninsular Malaysia, and a handful have migrated overseas too,” said Kerine, who is now the senior assistant of SMK Wira Penrissen.

In 1976, the Serian Secondary School had three Form 5 classes – 5A, 5B and 5C – housing approximately 105 students.

ApartfromKerine, othermembers of the reunion dinner organising committee are John Foster Kumen who is the secretary, Cassius Laini (treasurer), Sebastian Bong, Abu Bakar Udin, Anthony Ah Leng and Wellington Sabang.
