KUCHING: Ibraco Berhad’s charity partner Hope Place Kuching has opened another channel to touch the lives of the needy with a new charity centre at TT3 Plaza in Tabuan Tranquility here.

The Hope Place Charity Centre ( HPCC) has been set up with the main purpose of selling secondhand items – donated in good condition by the public – to raise funds to purchase necessary essentials for all recipients under the care of the non- governmental organisation ( NGO).

“It is also meant to create avenues for those who are less privileged to enjoy items that they never thought they could afford while at the same time, give opportunities to the moreable members of the public to share joy and love with the community around us,” said Hope Place president Chong Hai Eng, who officiated the opening of the centre alongside Ibraco chief marketing officer George Ting, here yesterday.

At HPCC, the public can donate items such as secondhand clothes, bags, blankets, household items, toys and more so long as these items are still in good condition.

These items will either be put on sale, with prices ranging from RM3 onwards, to raise the necessary funds for Hope Place

Meanwhile, Ting called on all kind- hearted Samaritans to continue supporting Hope Place by purchasing the pre-loved items at HPCC.

“Today ( yesterday), we have also collected some secondhand or pre- loved items from Ibraco employees, which we will continue to do so in going forward,” he said.

He added Ibraco believes not only in giving back to the community, but also to give back in a sustainable manner with an NGO that champions giving back to those truly in need.

Since 2017, Ibraco has assisted Hope Place through the provision of outlet spaces for free, monthly cash sponsorships and donation of items.

“This HPPC outlet at TT3 Plaza will be leased from Ibraco to Hope Place for free as part of our community service,” revealed Ting.

TT3 Plaza at Tabuan Tranquility comprises 80 units of threestorey shop offices, four units of four- storey shop offices with lift accessibility, stand- alone food court, six- storey educational block, and a 14- storey SOHO ( small office, home office) with two floors of retail outlets.

The newly- completed 84 units of shop offices are equipped with wider frontages and all floors for the shop offices are approved for commercial usage.

TT3 SOHO, which is expected to be completed by this year end, houses 10 stories of 167 stylish and comfortable SOHO residential units sitting above two floors of small retail outlets and two floors of basement car parks. It comes with the availability of a wading pool, swimming pool and gym.
