Hii to lead FSJA, taking over from Jane
SIBU: The Federation of Sarawak Journalists Association (FSJA) held its general meeting cum election yesterday and elected Hii Hong Wee as the new president, taking over from Jane Moh.
Hii is also the president of Sibu Journalists Association (SJA) while Jane is president of Institute of Rajang Journalists (IRJ).
Jacqueline Radoi David from Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) and Andy Jong from North Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) were elected the vice presidents.
The secretary’s post went to Jane. Rudi Affendi Khalik from KDJA is the assistant secretary.
Ting Kung Yien from SJA and Zulazhar Sheblee of KDJA are the treasurer and assistant treasurer respectively.
The ordinary committee members are Johnny Bilon (SJA), Anna Siaw (SJA), Chang Lee Fong (KDJA), Zaheera Johari (NSJA), and Chai Chong Chin (NSJA). IRJ will later pick three of its members to become the ordinary members of the committee.
In his acceptance speech, Hii disclosed that SJA will host the Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) this year.
“We are delighted and proud to host KJA 2019 in Sibu. Soon we will form the KJA committee members and planning will start soon,” he said.
