Contract worker electrocuted while installing cables, dies
SIBU: A contract worker of a telecommunications company died after he was electrocuted while installing cables at a residential area in Jalan Teku, here last Saturday.
The victim, 37, was carrying out the task with two colleagues at Taman Indah when the incident happened around 3pm.
Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel rushed the victim, who was still alive at the time, to Sibu Hospital where he passed away around 4.35pm.
District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said a postmortem on the deceased has been scheduled for today (May 6), with police classifying the case as sudden death.
