Saberkas Borneo Eco Trek targets 500 for anniversary run

-

SIBU: Saberkas Borneo Eco Trek Unit is looking at more than 500 participants for its 10th Anniversary Run to be held on Oct 12 at Jade Dragon Temple, Mile 16 Sibu-Bintulu Road.

Event organising chairman Raymond Tiong said the run to celebrate its anniversary also aims to promote hash run as a part of a healthy lifestyle during a press conference yesterday morning.

The run is divided into 10km long run, 6-7km medium run and 3-4km short run according to participant’s ability.

“Hash run involves running short, medium or long distances.

“The long or cross country run requires runners to pass through rubber and palm oil estates, secondary and primary jungles, including hills or slopes, rivers and uneven terrain.

“It exposes the runners to the beauty of the natural forest,” he explained.

After the run, refreshment will be provided while runners mingle, he added.

The celebration will end with a dinner at Paramount Hotel on the same day.

Entry fee is RM50 per person and the closing date is Aug 31.
