Two-day ICCX 2019 aims to help youths land employment

SIBU: About 600 graduating students are taking part in the two- day Industrial Collaborat­ion and Career Expo ( ICCX) at Politeknik Mukah, which kicked off yesterday.

The event also involves 18 agencies, companies and industries.

Ministry of Education’s Polytechni­c Education and Community College Department senior director ( competency) Dr Mohd Rashahidi @ Rusdi Mohamood regards the programme as an initiative for polytechni­cs and community colleges to be near to the community.

“The interactio­n between polytechni­cs and community colleges and the community can be strengthen­ed, enabling for creation of follow- up initiative­s,” he said in his speech, read out by Politeknik Mukah director Dullah Muluk.

ICCX is run under the ‘ Program Aspirasi Gagasan Alumni’ with the students. For the Sarawak zone event, Politeknik Mukah is the host.

Other activities slotted into the programme line- up include a job carnival, an interview preparatio­n course, open interview sessions for vacancies in the private sector, an alumni forum and also an alumni sharing session.
