Rep contribute­s big chunk of RTP fund to church building fund

SARIKEI: Repok assemblyma­n Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii has allocated a big chunk of his annual Rural Transforma­tion Project (RTP) fund to St Anthony’s Church here.

During a site visit to check on the progress of the project recently, Huang said that RM500,000 of his 2018 RTP fund went to the upgrading of the church’s building and constructi­on of a priest quarters.

As the church was still raising fund for the same project, he contribute­d another RM650,000 from his 2019 RTP fund to the church building fund.

Huang also helped to apply for additional fund from Unit For Other Religion (Unifor) under the Chief Minister’s Department and got another RM300,000 bringing the total fund from the state government to RM1.45 million.
