Sibu MP Oscar Ling (second right) prepares to declare open a major taekwondo tournament in style as grandmaste­r Dr Sabree Salleh (centre) and others look on. Ling also remarked on the benefits of the sport for participan­ts such as promoting self-discipline, a healthy lifestyle and unity among the different races. Over 250 exponents representi­ng 22 teams from Sabah, Kelantan, Perak and Sarawak are taking part in the 10th Sarawak Schools & Sarawak Open Taekwon-Do (MGTF) Championsh­ip held at Swan Square, Sibu from Aug 24 to 25. Also present at the opening ceremony were founder of Global Tae Kwon-Do Federation Internatio­nal (GTFi) Grandmaste­r Datuk Seri Prof Dr Sabree Salleh and Sarawak Global Taekwondo Federation (SGTA) president Abang Ahmad Zaini.
