However, Tecktonic & Sons managing director Lee Chin Teck has announced that the mall is already open for business, starting today.
“We will be conducting a soft opening of our PaPa foodcourt on the same day (Aug 30),” he told reporters during a press conference here yesterday.
LePaPa Hypermarket is located on No 113 of Lot 1456 in the commercial centre at Jalan Datuk Michael Ben here.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan is expected to officiate at the event at 10am this Friday.
Other dignitaries expected to be present at the grand opening are Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, and Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus.
Meanwhile, mall manager Bong Teck Pyng announced that in conjunction with the official opening of LePaPa Hypermarket, every shopper would be entitled to applying for a lifetime membership card at only RM10.
“The cardholders get to purchase items at member’s prices. All they have to do is apply for the membership at only RM10 – no renewal is required as their membership would last for life. This offer runs from today until Aug 30. Those who purchase the membership cards ( today) are entitled to receiving ice-cool towels worth RM7 apiece,” added Bong.
In connection with its opening, LePaPa Hypermarket is also holding its lucky draw campaign from today until Friday, with the results to be announced on Friday night, during its ‘Merdeka Countdown’.
To be eligible for the draw, shoppers need to make a purchase worth RM30 and above in a single receipt.
Ten 40-inch LED television sets are up for grabs in the lucky draw.
After the grand launch this Friday, LePaPa Hypermarket will also be holding a karaoke competition running from 2pm to midnight. The winner will take home LePaPa cash vouchers worth RM500, while the first, second and third runners-up will pocket cash vouchers worth RM300, RM200 and RM100, respectively.
There will also be eight consolation prizes, comprising RM50 cash vouchers.
