Milo Futsal Clinic ends with awards for players
MIRI: Milo Futsal Champions Clinic ended last Sunday after eight sessions focussing on character development, motor skill development and technical skills.
A total of 38 players aged 7 to 12 took part in the clinic which aimed to develop sports at the grassroots level and help young players reach the top of their game. Held at the Kingsport Centre in Senadin here the clinic used a learning package produced by national futsal coach Chiew Chun Yong. Clinic head coach Fadillah Ibrahim observed that all the participants have shown improvement in their game and teamwork.
“Throughout the sessions, we notice progress in the players in terms of ball control, teamwork and we see these players have the potential to go far with the support of their parents and the coaches.
“Futsal encourages heightened reflexes and by starting young, we are building the next generation of professional futsal players for our country. The game unites children and we believe their interests and talents should be nurtured from childhood,” he added.
Other coaches who conducted the annual Milo Clinic were former national player Elizabeth Oyau, Paulia Weng, Alwi Bakar, Muhd Hanafi Abd Maulud and Marhadi Kipli.
Awards were also given out at the end of the clinic. Akif Asyari Mohd Serpree was adjudged best player. Among other recipients were Francis Xavier Kanang Fedrick Sattu (Best Goalkeeper), Stanferd Galang (Best Dribbler), Qalish Dzulkarnain Wagiman (Best Pivot), Amanda Ruran Renly (Best Team Player), Muhammad Danish Tan Anuar Irwan (Best Leadership), Sabastian Frank Jabu (Best Goal) and Ahmad Hazwan Syahmi Zamrie (Best Anchor).
Also present at the closing ceremony were State Sports Council (MSN) Miri officer Netty Elvis and Permy Galaxy president Mohd Serpree Brahim.
