Former Pos M’sia manager charged with CBT

SIBU: A former Pos Malaysia Sdn Bhd Sibu Jaya branch manager was charged at the Sessions Court here yesterday with four charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving a sum of RM153,500.

No plea was taken from the accused Frankie Nyalau Suring, 35, before Sessions Court Registrar Romie Ahmad Zaidi.

The court allowed the accused to be released on RM20,000 bail with two local sureties and he is to report to the police station every two weeks.

He is to appear in court again on Sept 5 for further mention of the case.

He faces four charges under Section 409 of the Penal Code which carries a minimum two years imprisonme­nt term and maximum 20 years’ imprisonme­nt, and with whipping and shall also be liable to fine.

According to the first charge, Frankie was accused of CBT involving RM41,500 on Aug 27, 2015. For the second, third and fourth charges, he was said to committed similar offences involving RM42,000, RM30,000 and RM40,000 on Aug 19, 21 and 26 the same year.

He allegedly did not to bank in all the money into the company’s account as the branch manager.
