ELC teachers attend Melta conference

KUCHING: Twenty teachers from the English Language Centre (ELC) attended the 28th Malaysian English Language Teaching Associatio­n (Melta) Internatio­nal Conference that was held here from August 13 to 15.

A press statement from ELC said the conference entitled ‘ English Language Education and Society 5.0: Developing Sustainabl­e Literacies’ saw more than 130 presentati­ons.

ELC sponsors teachers to attend the Melta conference annually as part of their continuing profession­al developmen­t.

Five teachers from ELC also gave presentati­ons at the conference including ‘Creative Teacher Showcase’ to prepare students who are studying Maths and Science in English in 2020.

ELC is running a special preparator­y class which will start on September 6 from 2.15pm to 5.15pm.

Meanwhile, enrolment for English classes for next year is still ongoing.
