MIRI: Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOPB) has donated 130 500ml bo les of Merris Natural Vegetable Oil (Classic) and 150 2kg bo les of Merris Pure Vegetable Oil to SMK Chung Hua Miri for its upcoming annual food fair to be held on Aug 31.

The fair will be held from 7am to 1pm at the school compound, to raise fund to support the school’s operational expenses and for improving its facilities.

The food fair will feature 55 booths selling a wide variety of freshly cooked foods, cakes, beverages, as well as dry food items such as rice.

SOPB head of Trading and Operations William Wong Sieh Tung handed over the items to the teacher in-charge Yong Hong Then, and witnessed by SOPB’s Consumer Products marketing manager Paul Ch’ng and teachers. The presentation was held at SOPB headquarters in Jalan Bendahara here.

“It is part of our initiatives to give back to the community as we strive to actively contribute towards the need and well-being of the local communities,” said Wong.

Merris cooking oil is produced locally in SOPB’s refinery with freshly harvested Sarawakgrown palm oil. Merris Pure Vegetable Oil has high content of natural vitamin E, cholesterol free, trans fat free and endures relatively high levels of heat, whereas Merris Natural Vegetable Oil (Classic) is suitable for stir-frying, baking, salad dressing and dipping.

The cooking oil is an ideal choice for the health conscious as it contains significant levels of carotenes (Pro-vitamin A) and tocotrienols (Super Vitamin E). These nutrients make it healthier choice as they are good for eyes, heart and brain with high content of natural antioxidants and anti-ageing properties.
