25 take part in ‘Train the Trainers’ workshop

-

MIRI: Twenty-five people have completed a two-day Reading Seeds ‘Train the Trainers’ workshop at Pustaka Miri recently.

The participants were library staff and parents from Miri as well as nearby areas such as Bintulu, Tatau and Sebauh.

Organised by Pustaka Miri, the workshop was conducted by Pustaka Miri’s librarian Lilian Baun Pulo.

According to the organising spokesperson, a total of 12 modules were covered during the workshop.

“The reading modules are tailored for expecting mothers and mothers with babies up to 36 months old.

“This workshop will enable the trainers to share whatever information that they have learnt with the community in their respective areas, particularly parents.”

The spokesperson also said video tutorials, hands-on training and live simulation of actual events were used as training tools which truly turned the workshop into an interactive session.

Pustaka Miri hopes that through the workshop, the love of reading amongst children will further grow in the communities.

Those interested to support and join the Reading Seeds initiatives can contact Pustaka Miri at 085-422525 for further information.
