The order was issued by Magistrate Md. Syafique Md. Hilmie after allowing a remand application by prosecuting officer Insp Mohd Firdaus Hanafiah Zulkifley.

In his application, Firdaus said on Oct 1, a teenager made a report at Miri Central Police Station saying that his money had gone missing.

In his report, the 17- yearold complainant claimed that around 8pm on Sept 30, while in a cyber café in Permyjaya, he discovered that RM550 cash kept in his wallet which was placed on a computer table at the premises was missing.

The complainant suspected that the money was stolen by an unknown person.

Acting on information received, around 11.30am on Oct 2 in front of a house at Jalan Kiambang 5B, Tudan Phase 3, a team of police led by ASP Unang Giang arrested a boy on suspicion of his involvement in the case.

During the arrest, the police also confiscated an electronic cigarette and cash of RM323 in his possession, to be used as case exhibit.

Following the arrest, the suspect was brought to Miri Central Police Station for further action.

In his application, Firdaus said a four- day remand according to Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code was needed on the 13- year- old suspect to enable the police to complete their investigation paper under Section 380 of the Penal Code.

However, the court only allowed a two- day remand on the suspect until Oct 5.
