KUALA LUMPUR: The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) has listed 19 items under the festive season price control scheme for Christmas.

Deputy Minister Chong Chieng Jen said the scheme would be implemente­d for 10 days from Dec 22 to 31.

“The ministry has identified additional items including red chilies, round cabbage imported from Indonesia and China excluding Beijing cabbage and imported potatoes (China).

“The category comprises chicken, eggs, vegetables, mu on and pork,” he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby here yesterday.

The goods placed under the scheme are:

● Live chicken

● Standard chicken (slaughtere­d and dressed, with head, feet, liver and gall bladder)

● Super chicken (slaughtere­d and dressed, without head, feet, liver and gall bladder)

● Live old chicken (maximum price in Sarawak only)

● Imported turkey

● Chicken wings ( maximum price in Sabah, Sarawak and

● Local mu on with bone (maximum price in the peninsula only)

● Grade A eggs (between 65 gm and 69.9 gm)

● Grade B eggs (between 60 gm and 64.9 gm)

● Grade C eggs (between 55 and 59.9 gm)

● Imported potatoes from China

● Round cabbage imported from Indonesia and China excluding Beijing cabbage

● Red chillies

● Tomatoes

● Green capsicum

● Live pig (control at the farm only)

● Pork (stomach) (maximum price in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan only)

● Pork (meat and fat) (maximum price in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan only)

The ministry warned of firm action against traders who fail to adhere to the scheme under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteeri­ng Act 2011.
