Stalls for Gong Xi Fa Cai Bazaar still available

MIRI: Those interested to trade at Gong Xi Fa Cai Bazaar can head to Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) office to register.

According to MCCCI, 20 per cent of the stalls are still available for rent, probably due to slower economy and competitive market although demand is still high among the locals.

“As usual, there are over 200 stalls for both Bumiputera and Chinese traders, and currently, all Bumiputera stalls have been taken up. The remaining 20 per cent of the stalls available are at the Chinese area.”

Street decorations for the annual event have been in place since early December.

“It has been raining a lot in the past three weeks. Our contractors have been putting up as much decorations as possible during sunny days. So far, the works have been progressing well.”

For the ‘Year of the Rat’, two giant cartoon rat characters will be put up at the island across the street from MCCCI office.

Located at High Street Road and Jalan Raja, the Gong Xi Fa Cai Bazaar 2020 will be running from Jan 17 to the midnight of Jan 24.
