More than 100 pullers set for first of quarterly armwrestling tournament
KUCHING: The Premier 101 Armwrestling Club will be organising the Premier 101 Open Armwrestling Tournament as a series of competitions held quarterly.
The first or Series 1 will take place at CityOne Megamall on Jan 12.
Registration and weigh-in will be conducted from 10:30am to 12pm.
Organising chairperson Louise Teng said more than 100 pullers from all over Sarawak and Sabah will be vying for honours in the 12 categories: Men’s Right Arm 70kg, 86kg and 86kg Above, Men’s Left Arm 70kg, 86kg and 86kg Above, Novice Men’s Right Arm 78kg and 78kg Above, Women’s Right Arm 78kg and 78kg Above, and Women’s Left Arm 78kg and 78kg Above.
There is also an award for the Champion of the Champions.
“The champion of each category shall receive a medal, certificate, hamper and voucher while the runner-up and thirdplaced pullers shall each get a medal, certificate and hamper.
“Registration is free and the competition will be held from 10:30am to 6pm. All are welcome to join the competition,” said Louise.

Walk-in entries on the day of competition are also accepted.
Top pullers from Sarawak and Sabah have confirmed their participation including national champions like Abigail Kee, Bernice Gan, Calveen Petrus, Kenny Choo and national number two in men’s lightweight Raymond Wong.
“This will be one competition that pullers especially the local pullers will be looking forward to,” Louise promised.
