Odd-job worker found dead inside hut

SIBU: An odd-job worker, 29, was found dead in a hut near a longhouse in Tanjung Penasu, Batang Igan, here yesterday.

Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the deceased, identified as Mohd Asrul Kalana from Rumah

Chabu in Tanjung Penasu, was found by a longhouse resident at 5.25am.

“Policemen rushed to the scene a er they received information of the discovery from the longhouse chief.

“We believe he has been dead more than three days based on the decomposition (state) of the body,” he said in a statement.

Stanley said initial investigation found no injuries on the body.

Police have classified the case as sudden death.

The body was later taken to Sibu Hospital mortuary.
