Limbang Chinese leaders asked to improve service delivery

-

LIMBANG: Chinese community leaders here have been called on to constantly find ways to improve their service delivery system.

Pemanca Leong Boong Ming said this is necessary to remain relevant in serving the community.

“As government- appointed leaders of the community, we need to fulfil our responsibilities as leaders at the grassroots level and understand the needs of the people and act on them,” he said at a recent meeting with the Sepanjang Jalan Tujuh Batu Keliling village security and development committee (JKKK).

Among those present were Penghulu Chua Beng Soon, Sepanjang Jalan Tujuh Batu Keliling JKKK chairman Kapitan Ngu Lu King, and secretary Kapitan Lee Yiing Chiong.

Chua reminded all JKKK members of their responsibilities in helping the relevant authorities to address problems affecting the community in their respective areas.

“Issues like school dropouts affecting children below 18 years and other social issues such as helping the poor and single parents to register under the eKasih System; besides problems of road, drainage, and environmental issues need to be reported to the relevant parties, so that remedial actions can be taken immediately,” he said.

He added the JKKK had participated in various activities last year such as the Bukit Emas Festival opening ceremony, Rabies Prevention Campaign, JKKK Management Training Programme, and Empowerment Workshop for non- governmental organisations.
