‘International Conference on Belt and Road 2020’ to be held on Jan 14, 15
KUCHING: ACEC Association, in cooperation with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak and Beijing Wuzi University, is organising the first ‘ International Conference on Belt and Road 2020’ on Jan 14 and 15 at UiTM Sarawak Samarahan 2 Campus here.
Before the commencement of the main event, a first full-study ‘Study Go China’ conference will be held on Jan 13 at Islamic Information Centre (IIC) Sarawak, where the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong will deliver a keynote speech.
Guests from prestigious Chinese education institutions are expected to do on-site sharing with students and parents, and students who register on the day of the event will be offered special scholarships.
This conference themed ‘Towards Educational Cooperation and Regional Development’ serves as a platform for academics, business owners and the general public from eight countries to gain insight for the educational cooperation and regional development. Besides, it will also serve as a meeting point for conference delegates to discuss potential collaborations and cooperation.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is the patron of the conference, will be officiating at the event on Jan 14.
On Jan 15, university scientific research institutions from various countries will join the theme forum to discuss future cooperation direction, in terms of alliance of education and research that will provide greater space for local industry development and employment.
The speakers include Prof Emeritus Datuk Ir Dr Mohd Azraai Kassim of Universiti Teknologi Mara; Prof Han Xing, Dean of Beijing Wuzi University of International Relations; Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Abang Openg, president of Sarawak Chamber of Commerce; Cheng Guangzhong, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China and Dr Lawrence Loh of National University of Singapore.
This conference is also co-organised by Anhui Association of International Education and Anhui Medical University and it is supported by Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Art Sarawak, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Research Sarawak, Sarawak Convention Bureau as well as the Consulate-General of The People’s Republic of China in Kuching.
