PDRM calling for applications for vacancies

KUCHING: Sarawakians are invited to apply for vacancies at the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) which are currently open for application.

The posts available are Inspector, YA1 Grade Constable and YT1 Grade (Support) Constable.

Sarawak Police head of management department SAC Norzanah Buang said there are 5,513 vacancies in the PDRM to be filled this year.

“For the vacancy of Inspector (YA13), there are 159 vacancies but we have received 16,094 applications,” she told a special press conference at the General Operations Force (GOF) headquarters in Batu Kawa here yesterday.

As for the YA1 Grade Constable post, Norzanah said there are 4,636 vacancies, and 43,716 applications had been received in 2019 and this year.

Whereas for the YT1 Grade Constable (support), she said there are 718 vacancies and the department had received 4,784 applications.

She said applications for any of the posts in PDRM can only be made through the PDRM website at https:// epengambilanpdrm. rmp. gov. my and those sent by post would not be accepted.

“That’s why we are worried that people living in rural areas who do not have internet access will not have information about these vacancies.

“We hope the media can disseminate our new mode of recruitment,” she said.

According to her, the deadline for applications for the constable posts is January 14, 2020.

She said all information regarding recruitment, calls for interview and tests are only posted on https:// epengumpdrm.rmp.gov.my.

“Only those who have been accepted and appointed will be notified in writing,” she added.
