The partnership is part of Swinburne’s effort in supporting the digitalisation of Malaysia’s construction industry as Swinburne is convinced that the use of BIM as a technique will improve project delivery through efficient use of resources, improved safety, and accurate timeline.

Under the current arrangement, the MoA for research and development work is entitled ‘Formulation of an Effective

Building Information Modelling (BIM) Deployment’.

The research will identify what is faced during implementation, and to design, develop and assess a structured BIM deployment process in the Malaysian context, taking into consideration the gaps in supply chain and the availability of skilled workers.

Wong said BIM technology is an increasing necessity in the current industry climate and urged industry professionals in

Sarawak to take full advantage of the facilitation provided at the myBIM Satellite Centre hosted by Swinburne at its Kuching campus.

Set up in June 2018, the centre is a government-backed initiative to embed the new platform within the construction industry nationwide and is also part of the Construction Industry Development Board roadmap towards Industrial Revolution 4.0.

MIRI: Sekolah Rendah Sri Mawar is calling on all ex-pupils to attend its inaugural reunion dinner at Imperial Hotel here on March 7.

Its headmistress Roslawati Ahmad said the Mawar Dinner aims at raising funds to support the school’s development in line with its theme of ‘ Opening Our Doors to Better Tomorrow’.

“This is the first occasion that brings together all former students of Sekolah Rendah Sri Mawar along with current students, teachers and parents for a dinner while contributing towards a noble cause of providing our pupils and the future children studying at SRSM an environment that is conducive,” she said in a press conference here yesterday.

Roslawati added the main purpose of organising the dinner is to raise funds for the upgrading of the school compound for co-curricular activities as well as improving the school infrastructure and learning facilities.

“We plan to have a bigger playground given that the space now is rather small and limited, a shade for our outdoor activities, assembly and upgrade IT facilities,” she said, adding that the school aims to raise funds of RM50,000 to RM60,000 for these purposes.

“Mawar Dinner is an opportunity for ex-Sri Mawar pupils to have a reunion gathering of their classes.

“We seek to request parents and ex-Sri Mawar pupils to fully support our fund-raising activities such as the upcoming Mawar Dinner and Mawar Run in July 2020,” she added.

Several performances have been lined up to add to the merriment including hip-hop dance, flag dance, latin dance and magic show. Guests can also join in the karaoke session and bring back memories with photos taken at a photo booth at the event.

Those who wish to know more and purchase tickets for the dinner priced at RM100 and RM80 each can contact the school admin office at 085-658606 during office hours.

Sekolah Rendah Sri Mawar located in Piasau Jaya here is a private co-educational primary school established in 1986 to serve the needs of discerning parents for a solid, comprehensive and focused education for their children. Currently, the school has about 350 students.
