KUCHING: Hing Ann Association Kuching is holding a Happy Family Day event at SJK Chung Hua No. 3 here, from 8am to 2pm on Feb 15.

The event will feature 20 stalls selling food and beverages, family health products, optical goods and many others.

“We are supported by KPJ Specialist Hospital and they will be bringing specialists to conduct free health screening at the event,” its president Michael Teo told a press conference in his office yesterday.

The health check includes blood sugar test, blood test, eye screening, diabetes screening and many others, he said.

Aside from that, there will be two counters providing information on Post Natal Care Incentive, Sarawak Endowment Fund and assistance for diabetic patients by the Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development.

The counters will also help Sarawakian senior citizens to apply for the Kenyalang Gold Card.

Each successful registration will walk away with a free goodie bag.

Officers from the ministry will be on hand for consultation, Teo said.

The guest of honour will be Minister for Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, with Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian as special guest.

Teo invites the public to attend the event as a family activity and take up the free check-ups.

Meanwhile, organising chairperson Molly Ling hopes that many people will turn up for the meaningful event.
