Kelington bags new contracts worth RM35 mln

KUCHING: Integrated engineerin­g solutions provider, Kelington Group Berhad ( Kelington) has clinched a new contract worth approximat­ely RM35 million from one of the world’s leading semiconduc­tor chip manufactur­er to provide infrastruc­ture works for a facility in Penang.

This contract is categorise­d under the Group’s General Contractin­g segment and is expected to be completed within nine months, by September 2020.

Raymond Gan said, “We are off to a strong start in 2020 and we hope to sustain the momentum as we increase our tender activities across our key markets in China, Malaysia and Singapore.

“Despite the challengin­g operating environmen­t, there are vast business opportunit­ies in the semiconduc­tor sector.

“By leveraging on our track record and strength, we believe we stand a good chance to clinch more jobs especially from semiconduc­tor clients that we have establishe­d longterm relationsh­ips with over the years,” he added.

The Group secured a total value of new orders at RM386 million in the financial year ended December 31, 2019. Projects from the Ultra High Purity segment contribute­s the majority of the group’s orderbook at 81 per cent followed by Process Engineerin­g segment and General Contractin­g segment.

The outstandin­g orderbook to be carried forward into the financial year ending December 31, 2020 will be announced in end February 2020 in conjunctio­n with the 4Q2019 financial results.
