Kelington bags new contracts worth RM35 mln

KUCHING: Integrated engineering solutions provider, Kelington Group Berhad ( Kelington) has clinched a new contract worth approximately RM35 million from one of the world’s leading semiconductor chip manufacturer to provide infrastructure works for a facility in Penang.

This contract is categorised under the Group’s General Contracting segment and is expected to be completed within nine months, by September 2020.

Raymond Gan said, “We are off to a strong start in 2020 and we hope to sustain the momentum as we increase our tender activities across our key markets in China, Malaysia and Singapore.

“Despite the challenging operating environment, there are vast business opportunities in the semiconductor sector.

“By leveraging on our track record and strength, we believe we stand a good chance to clinch more jobs especially from semiconductor clients that we have established longterm relationships with over the years,” he added.

The Group secured a total value of new orders at RM386 million in the financial year ended December 31, 2019. Projects from the Ultra High Purity segment contributes the majority of the group’s orderbook at 81 per cent followed by Process Engineering segment and General Contracting segment.

The outstanding orderbook to be carried forward into the financial year ending December 31, 2020 will be announced in end February 2020 in conjunction with the 4Q2019 financial results.
