Two Chung Hua Primary School pupils under self-quarantine
KUCHING: A pupil of Chung Hua Primary School (CHPS) No.1 who recently visited China is under the 14-day self-quarantine in light of the current 2019 Novel Coronavirus outbreak, said Board of Management for Kuching CHPS No.1-6 chairman Wong Tiong Hook.
According to him, a pupil of CHPS No. 2 who had recently been to Japan is also on a similar isolation exercise as a precaution.
“Of the six schools under the care of the board of management, only two schools are presently having a pupil each under selfquarantine.
“Before this, a couple of pupils of CHPS No. 6 travelled to Taiwan, Japan, USA, Thailand and other countries during the festive break.
“These pupils did undergo self-quarantine and have returned to school in good health condition,” he said when met by reporters after attending a function held at CHPS No.2 here yesterday.
Wong added that CHPS No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 were not affected since none of their pupils had travelled abroad recently.
“We comply with the directive of the government, that whoever has recently visited China must undergo self-quarantine to help contain the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus,” he said.
