CM praises Ma-Zhong Sabah for donation effort
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, met with Liang Caide, the Consul-General of China to Kota Kinabalu, yesterday.
They were accompanied by Dr Oh Ei Sun and Steven Liaw, president and secretary-general of the Ma-Zhong Friendship Association, respectively.
Shafie and Liang exchanged information and views on the 2019 Novel Coronavirus outbreak in China and other locations worldwide.
The chief minister also initiated a donation drive among the various sectors in Sabah for combating the outbreak in China.
He praised Ma-Zhong Sabah for having taken the lead in this regard, and urged them to continue with the lofty effort.
Dr Oh thanked the chief minister for his encouragement, and he pledged that Ma-Zhong Sabah will continue to work closely with both the state government and the China consulate-general to help combat the novel coronavirus in China and beyond.
Dr Oh also thanked Sabah donors who have supported MaZhong Sabah’s donation drive that has collected more than RM100,000.
