PAS Bintulu reaches out to Chinese community

KUCHING: The Youths and Muslimat Bintulu Commi ee (MBC) of Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) ran a outreach programme for the Chinese community in Bintulu before Chap Goh Mei.

Under this programme, 200 pieces of ‘bahulu’ (traditiona­l fluffy egg cake) and PAS flyers wri en in Mandarin were distribute­d to visitors at Bintulu Market.

PAS Bintulu Muslimat Welfare chairperso­n Zaitun Said said the commi ee received overwhelmi­ng response, especially from those celebratin­g the occasion.

She said the annual outreach programme was meant to enhance the good relationsh­ip between PAS and the Chinese community.

“We received a warm welcome from the Chinese community here. Even though we practise different beliefs, we can still live in harmony and unity,” said Zaitun.
