KUCHING: Kuching FA have called on Sarawakians to support their team with the hope that their new team jerseys will be a hit.

A er all Kuching FA is one of Sarawak’s two representatives in the Premier League,” said KFA president Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman at a ceremony here on Sunday.

KFA will compete in Malaysia’s second-tier league - the Premier League - this year.

Present to witness the ceremony were officials from Sarawak Football Association (FAS), LEA Sports Centre, Kuching City North Commission (DBKU) and team sponsors led by FAS president Datuk Posa Majais.

Fazzrudin called on KFA fans to also support Sarawak United as both teams are playing in the 2020 Premier League and deserve the support of all Sarawakians.

“As a team who will travel a lot each season just to play matches, the support from Malaysia Airlines and DBKU is crucial. We need all the help we can get when participating in the competition this year,” he added.

For the 2020 season, KFA’s home jersey for outfield players features a round neck collar, predominantly green and white colour (with green linings) while the away jersey is red and white with a V-neck collar.

The team, which is coached by former Sarawak player Ideris Untong, combines youth and experience as former state players and a few import players have signed to join the outfit.
