MSU ranks QS World University Rankings by Subject

MSU has been ranked 28th in the world and 2nd in Malaysia on the 2020 QS World University Rankings by Subject ranking for hospitalit­y and leisure management.

This recognitio­n across all Malaysian universiti­es is among the highest and fastest achievemen­t MSU has had so far, considerin­g the fact that is also our first entry into the ranking.

Having also recognised for various internatio­nal and local awards such as the accreditat­ion by Asia Pacific Institute of Events Management (APIEM), which is the first Malaysian Centre of Excellence and the Gold Award School of Tourism and Hospitalit­y by the Malaysia Tourism Council (MTC), the strength of hospitalit­y field in MSU is on the competitiv­e advantage through the curriculum it provides for all levels of study from diploma to post graduate studies.

Also, having the support from MSU’s local and internatio­nal industries, create a wholesome approach in our goals in building holistic, balanced and wellrounde­d graduates.

“I am very delighted with what we have achieved on the QS World University subject rankings, which is a testimony that we are on the right direction to achieving our vision and mission of transformi­ng lives and enriching the future. This is set a benchmark for us, showing that the university is on par internatio­nally and acts as an indication that we are doing it right,” said MSU president Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.

“The excellent collaborat­ion work by the strong academic team at the School of Hospitalit­y and Creative Arts (SHCA), and the strategic partnershi­p with over 1700 industry partner through University Industry Advisory Panel (UIAP) contribute­d towards our strong performanc­e.

“Strong engagement with industry partners have allowed our students to gain invaluable industry insight which in transform them the foundation for their future career. MSU enhances competenci­es with industry internship, community and creative entreprene­urship, as well as global exposure; empowering MSU graduates with the well-roundednes­s desired relating to industry and sought after by employers making them career ready.

“Extensive partnershi­ps and collaborat­ions with institutio­ns in over 40 countries worldwide provide comprehens­ive mobility opportunit­ies for all MSU students, enhancing their graduate employabil­ity through global exposures by studies and internship­s abroad.
