Tan Ann donates to Sibu Hospital
SIBU: Ta Ann Group contributed RM164,300 to Sibu Hospital yesterday for the purchase of two hydraulic trauma patient beds and a high-end portable intelligent transport ventilators to cope with the situation brought about by the Covid-19 outbreak here.
According to the hospital’s head of Emergency and Trauma Department, Dr Chan Swee Ping, they were in dire need of such beds to meet the growing number of Covid-19 patients.
One of the symptoms of Covid19 is shortness of breath, and those with severe respiratory distress would need a ventilator to help them breathe normally.
The high-end ventilators can be used by adults, children, and even newborns. It can also provide up to nine hours of ventilation to assist patients with long-distance transfer to Sarawak General Hospital. Many patients in the central region are sent to Sibu Hospital for treatment.
Therefore, Sibu Hospital needs additional medical equipment to ensure that patients can be properly treated. “I would like to extend our appreciation to Ta Ann Group for its generous donation for the benefit of Sibu folk,” Dr Chan said.
