SMC continues with disinfecti­on

SIBU: Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) yesterday afternoon carried out disinfecti­on at Taman Muhibah, Jalan Pedada area here in its continuing effort to rid the town of Covid-19.

According to SMC Market and Petty Traders standing committee chairman councillor Albert Tiang, the disinfecti­on process started with the market at Grand Height last Tuesday, after which it was carried out at Sungai Merah (April 18) , Sungai Antu (April 19), Taman Harmoni (April 20) and Khoo Peng Loong Road (April 21).

Tiang pointed out that the purpose of disinfecti­on was to build public confidence on the hygiene and cleanlines­s of SMC’s premises.

On a related matter, he noted that hawkers at markets here complied with the Movement Control Order (MCO) and hawkers and shoppers were seen wearing face mask.
