LIMBANG: The response from the public here to appeals from the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Limbang District to donate blood to replenish Limbang Hospital’s blood supply during the Movement Control Order (MCO) has been encouraging.

MRC Limbang chairman Chew Sing Liang said because of the good response, the hospital has no problem in getting blood supply during the MCO period.

“Despite the MCO, the response from donors was very encouraging and last Saturday alone, 25 donors showed up and donated 25 pints of blood,” he said.

He added Limbang Hospital started the blood donation drive on April 1.

“During the week, 22 pints of blood were collected for Limbang Hospital Blood Bank and so far this month, a total of 47 pints of blood have been collected.”

Chew said those wanting to donate blood will have to make a prior appointment with the blood bank or contact MRC Limbang deputy chairman Wong Ku Hai on 016-8865753.
