DAP Miri brings food aid to needy at Tudan Desaras

MIRI: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Miri yesterday distributed basic food assistance to 13 needy families at Tudan Desaras, Phase 6.

The assistance was given out by a team comprising DAP Piasau branch vice chairman Tan Huong Ing and DAP Piasau branch publicity secretary Hii Leh Kuang led by DAP Miri youth chief Peter Hee.

“Most of the recipients are from low income background and they do not have much savings too.

“They are also not working throughout the MCO duration and unable to generate income since the MCO was enforced due to Covid-19 on March 13 this year. That is why they have approached us and applied for food aid,” Hee said.

He thanked all the kindhearted people for their generous contributions through DAP Miri to bring relief the needy people.

“It is good to see many people coming forward to assist the needy people who are badly affected by the MCO.

“This is a great show of love for one another and a testament of our strong community spirit in Miri,” Hee said.
