TYT receives courtesy call from new Penerangan S’wak director
KUCHING: The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a courtesy call Monday from new Information Department (Penerangan) state director Swady Guliling at his residence in Demak Jaya.
Swady’s visit was mainly to inform the Head of State of his appointment as well as that of his new deputy director Aziz Abdul Rahman, who took office earlier this year.
According to a press statement, Swady took over as Penerangan Sarawak director on Jan 28, replacing Abang Sardon Abang Hashim who has transferred to the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia’s Strategic Communications Division in Putrajaya.
The 56-year-old from Sabah previously served as Cyber
Media Division director at Penerangan headquarters in Putrajaya. Prior to that, he also held the director’s post for Penerangan Labuan, Melaka, Terengganu and Sabah.
Meanwhile Aziz, a Sarawakian, assumed his official duties as Penerangan Sarawak deputy director on Jan 14, replacing Ali Suhaili who was promoted as Penerangan Selangor director.
Aziz previously served as a public relations officer at the Corporate Communications Unit of the Ministry of Primary Industries.
Also present during the courtesy call was Penerangan Sarawak Communication Services and Community Development Division chief assistant director Ajes Tuah.
