‘Genuine particulars needed to protect oneself, others’

- Peter Boon

SIBU: Providing genuine particulars when registering to enter business premises is necessary to help protect oneself as well as others should there be Covid-19 cases.

Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai stressed it is vital for everyone to provide their actual names and contact numbers as these are necessary should the Health Department need to trace customers due to a Covid-19 positive case at the premises.

“My advice is that everyone must play their role in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic. There must be no exception because one person can save others if he or she takes precautions to protect himself or herself and others by giving honest details when entering premises be it coffeeshops, supermarkets, markets, offices, and so on.

“When entering coffee shops, all of us must make sure that there is a register book to record our details like name and handphone number. Likewise, the coffeeshop owners must be sincere in protecting themselves and their customers, such as following the protocol’s diagram (with regard to table arrangement) and Conditional Movement Control
