“Generally, we are happy with the projects despite the delay in the implementation.
“Nevertheless, the contractors concerned have been urged to expedite the completion of these projects to help boost the local economy,” he said.

SIBU : A group of 12 local Muslims performed the Friday Prayer today at Sibu An-Nur Mosque which was held for its first time since the Movement Control Order (MCO) took place on March 18.
The Friday Prayer was headed by Ustaz Helmi Abu Bakar as the Imam.
The Sibu An-Nur Mosque management committee chairman Latiff Coupon also joined the prayer.
The group adhered to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which included writing down their names and handphone contacts, standing one metre apart for social distancing, wearing mask, no shaking hands, bringing along their own prayer mats and cleaning their hands with sanitizer.
Earlier on, the Sarawak Islamic Department and Sarawak Islamic Council had directed mosques/suraus in the state through the Order Letter to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) when performing Friday Prayer during the current Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
The number of people allowed to join the Friday Prayer is not less than four and not more than 12 persons.
