MIRI: Miri City Council (MCC) has reminded bistro operators that although they can resume operation, they are not allowed to provide entertainment services such as karaoke and live band performance.

According to a press statement by the council yesterday, all bistros must adhere strictly to the guidelines and standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Failure to do so will result in legal action and withdrawal of operation permit or any related measures that will be monitored by the State Disaster Management Committee, the police and other enforcement agencies.

Prior to resuming their operation, bistro operators must notify the Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (MDMC).

Application forms can be obtained from Miri Resident Office.

They are recommended to use disinfectant containing Sodium Hypoclorite, according to guidelines by the Health Ministry.

They must also screen the body temperature of their staff on a daily basis before they start working. The number of customers at any one time must be limited to ensure that they can adhere to social distancing requirement.

Operators must encourage customers to wear face mask and provide alcohol-based hand sanitiser or a place for them to wash their hands with soap provided.

Disposable or biodegradable eating utensils as well as electronic payment system are also encouraged.

Each table in the premises must not accommodate more than four people.

Tables must be two metres away from each other. No table should be placed on the five footway or hardstand.
