Kuching FA Japanese trio lending a helping hand
KUCHING: Kuching FA head coach Akira Higashiyama with players Yuta Suzuki and Yuuki Tanigawa have volunteered in assisting sales and merchandising activity for Yakult (M) Sdn Bhd during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
The aim was to bring happiness and positive vibes to frontliners working at the convenient stores, mini marts and supermarkets in Kuching area amidst this tough period.
The Japanese trio were involved in unloading, arranging and stocktaking of Yakult probiotic drinks in several outlets here from May 18 to 22.
Yuuki and Yuta were the sponsored players brought in by Yakult Malaysia to play for Kuching FA in the Premier League this season, which has been postponed.
During the CMCO, the team has limited engagement with football activity.
Thus, Akira came up with the idea of volunteering in assisting their sponsor during this period.
“We can’t play football during this time.
“Instead, we should do something for our sponsors during CMCO. So, we decided to do this volunteer activity for Yakult Malaysia,” he said.
Yuta said it was a good experience.
“I drink Yakult every morning but I didn’t know how they bring and supply Yakult to supermarkets before this,” the midfielder said.
“Now when I drink Yakult every morning, I will think about Yakult’s staff and the supermarket’s staff.
“If they don’t work, I will not able to drink Yakult every day,” he added.
For Yuuki, the volunteering work was hard but fun.
“This was the first time and now, I was able to understand the process of supplying Yakult to the stores,” said the defender.
They also expressed their gratitude to Yakult Malaysia’s staff who were very supportive throughout the activity.
Yakult (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Hiroshi Hamada appreciates the trio’s effort in assisting the sales and merchandising team.
“Thank you for volunteering as assistance to our sales and merchandising activities in
Yakult Kuching branch,” he said.
“This CSR activity is in line with the Yakult’s corporate philosophy which is preventive medicine (the concept of prevention is better than cure), healthy intestines lead to long life and delivering good health to as many people as possible,” Hiroshi added.
