‘Forward only complaints on SOP non-compliance’
SIBU: Members of the public should forward only complaints related to noncompliance with standard operating procedures ( SOPs) to the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) Covid-19 Complaint Hotline 013- 9994158 ( WhatsApp only), reminds Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Dr Annuar Rapaee.
He pointed out yesterday that it had come to his knowledge that unrelated complaints were channelled to the hotline, making it difficult for the staff manning the line to follow up on actual complaints related to non- compliance with the CMCO SOPs.
He said this would negate efforts to break the chain of
Covid- 19 infections.
“We should take extra caution because if not the second wave ( if it strikes) will have a greater impact not only in the number of cases but to the country's economy,” Dr Annuar, who is also Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research, said.
He added: “I appeal to the public to please channel only complaints on flouting of the CMCO SOPs such as crowded condition in supermarkets, markets, where the SOPs are not adhered to.
“Additionally, ( to complaints on) premises including forward business coffee shops not following the SOPs and those going against home quarantine order.”
The Nangka assemblyman stressed that fighting Covid- 19 requires the concerted efforts of everyone.
“The public are urged to be part of the eyes of the authority to make sure that the SOPs including social distancing are adhered to and to make sure that public places would not be too crowded,” he stressed.
Dr Annuar also advised members of the public to always wear face mask whenever they are outside to shield themselves against the coronavirus because there may be people around them who are asymptomatic and could spread the virus.
He also told the public to stay away from those not wearing face mask in public places.
