Cuepacs S’wak: Early special-aid payout to civil servants ‘much appreciated’

-

KUCHING: The Congress of Unions for Employees in Public and Civil Service (Cuepacs) Sarawak is grateful that the Sarawak government has disbursed the special aid of RM500 slated for every civil servant earlier than planned.

Cuepacs Sarawak president Ahmad Malie said the aid, which was scheduled for disbursement next month, was pledged by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg during the state-level Civil Service Day last year.

“What pleases Cuepacs Sarawak is that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak ( GPS)-led state government has heeded our appeal to move the disbursement forward instead of in June,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Ahmad believed that the majority of the civil servants had received the special aid before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Gawai Dayak celebrations.

He said Cuepacs Sarawak appreciated Sarawak government for being considerate in also extending the aid to federal civil servants working in Sarawak.

“The Sarawak government is the first and so far, the only state government that has offered incentive to federal civil servants who are serving in Sarawak.”

As such, he called upon all civil servants in Sarawak to record their sincere thanks to the Sarawak government.

“Cuepacs Sarawak hopes that the GPS-led Sarawak government would continue to rule the state going forward,” he said.

Ahmad also extended his appreciation to the Federal Secretary of Sarawak for facilitating the process of disbursement.

“With this aid, even the federal civil servants in Sarawak are able to enjoy the incentive,” he added.
