Petros donates festive care packs to frontliners
MIRI: Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (Petros)’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sarawak Distribution Gas Sdn Bhd yesterday distributed hand-curated packs to the healthcare frontliners at Miri Hospital.
Each pack contained personal care items such as body wash, shampoo and conditioner, hand sanitisers, face masks, as well as festive cookies and cakes.
The distribution was part of Petros’ ‘ Jauh Di Mata, Dekat Di Hati’ initiative to bring festive cheer and care to the healthcare frontliners and also the media personnel. It also took place concurrently at Bintulu Hospital, following the event in Kuching on Thursday.
Petros said the donation was a gesture of its appreciation to the frontliners in connection with this festive season.
The ‘ Jauh Di Mata, Dekat Di Hati’ programme is a donation of 400 care packs to the frontliners at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) in Kuching, Bintulu Hospital, and Miri Hospital. They are also given to reporters assigned to cover the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC)’s daily briefing through Federation of Sarawak Journalists Association (FSJA).
Miri Hospital deputy director I (medical) Dr Francis Heng received the packs from Sarawak Gas Distribution general manager Chua Sing Wan, who also conveyed a message of care on behalf of Petros chief executive officer Datuk Sauu Kakok.
“During this difficult time, we are all hugely indebted to our healthcare for providing lifesaving care and advice, and also to the media personnel for ensuring accurate and timely reporting – meant to contribute to the safety of everyone in Sarawak.
“This gesture is our small way of expressing our sincere appreciation to the frontliners and to let them know they are in the hearts and minds of us all at Petros,” he said.
