Youth gets RM1,000 fine for making false report

MIRI: A young man was fined RM1,000 in default two months’ jail by the Magistrate Court here yesterday for making a false report.

Abdulhadi Abdurasid, 20, from Tudan Desaras Phase 2 was charged under Section 182 of the Penal Code, which provides a six-month jail term or a fine of RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.

According to facts of the case, the accused made a false report claiming that his motorcycle was used by another person to commit theft.

He was charged with the offence at 8.05am on May 9 at Lutong police station.

ASP Mary Ong prosecuted before Magistrate Leona Dominic Mojiliu, while Abdulhadi was not represented.
