MRC Miri’s 3R Centre to reopen end June
MIRI: Preparation is underway at MRC Miri District’s 3R Centre before re-opening to the public.
Its operations manager, Jong Jing Kwong said they are making use of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) to reorganise everything in the shop, clean, and disinfect the place before reopening.
“We are making sure everything is ready,” he said when contacted yesterday, adding they target to reopen end of June after discussing with the committee.
He said part of the preparation was to reorganise and disinfect everything in the shop, limit the number of customers at any one time, observe social distancing, and washing of hands.
“We will be installing one sink at the entrance of the 3R centre and another at the entrance of MRC administration office for customers to wash their hands before entering,” Jong said.
As for the donated items, he said they have their own SOP which would be to disinfect donated items before sunning them to kill any virus followed by a second round of disinfection.
“Staff and volunteers would wear masks and other protective gear when handling the recycled items,” he said.
