STAR Tanjung Papat welcomes 500 new members

-

SANDAKAN: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) Sabah has received 500 new members for its N46 Tanjung Papat division.

According to STAR Sabah Tanjung Papat chief Fariz Moore, 90 per cent of the new members are voters in Tanjung Papat while the rest are voters in Elopura constituency.

The membership forms were handed to STAR Sabah president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan in Kota Kinabalu recently.

Fariz said the majority of the new members were former supporters of Democratic Action Party ( DAP) and Parti Warisan Sabah ( Warisan) who had realizsed the failure of Pakatan Harapan ( PH) in handling the country’s administration effectively.

“They had also claimed that the parties were selective, and were ‘ PTI-friendly’ ( illegal immigrant-friendly) that clearly jeopardises the sovereignty of the country and Sabah,” he said.

Fariz, who is also STAR Sabah coordinator for P186 Sandakan parliamentary area, said the number of STAR Sabah Tanjung Papat members is expected to increase further in the nearest time.

“A total of 1,000 membership forms have been distributed and are waiting to be returned.

Other than that, all the party divisions are working actively to increase members.

“STAR Sabah Tanjung Papat division’s target is to have at least 5,000 members for P. 186 Sandakan this year. Other than the division, the Women and Youth committees and also the ‘Wiramaja’ committee are also helping in this effort,” he said.

Fariz described STAR Sabah as a local party with three important objectives: the return of Sabah’s rights in line with Malaysia Agreement 1963; the fight for the sovereignty of Sabah that is continuously trespassed by illegal immigrants; and to develop education, human resource, infrastructure, and create economic and job opportunities.

“The additional 500 new members is a good sign that we are working towards achieving the above goals.

“STAR Sabah Tanjung Papat and P. 186 Sandakan are always open and welcome the people of Sandakan regardless of religion, political parties, races, and positions, to join us and strengthen STAR Sabah to ensure that we could prosper together,” he said.
